Pregnancy is a great moment to get even more close to yourself and your body. All the changes happening so fast, from how I feel to the way I look, make me to get so inspired to be even more in touch with myself.
One thing I can safely ensure is that we do need a lot of moisturizing, vitamins as well as a good and balanced diet and lots of rest.
To invest in time for yourself becomes even more important while pregnant. It is such as great feeling to have a type of everyday homespa, with your favorite products. It surely helps to go through the crazy and changing times.
Here I share some of my current favorites. Not only for myself but for my soon to come baby boy.
For the mamma:
I am just loving the intimate line from DeoDoc . The swedish brand has created a series of luxurious, gentle and pH-balanced intimate deodorants in collaboration with a professor of gynecology – all to give you the opportunity to feel the freshest version of yourself.
The packaging design is amazing, feminine, chic and makes the toilet shelf to look great. Nothing like the regular intimate hygiene regular products we find at the ordinary markets. It smells amazing and even better, protects the PH levels at the Queen V area. I am loving it.
I carry the tissues in my bag and the deodorant in my necessaire, so I have them everywhere I go. Yes, it is this practical. Here is a list of retailers. Go get em, queen!
The Konjac Sponge is totally natural packed with minerals and antioxidants. It eeply cleanses, exfoliates and detoxifies skin for a radiant complexion. Gentle enough for sensitive skins and babies.
The amazing plant – Konjac Potato or Konnyaku – has been used in Indonesia, Korea, Japan and China for over 1,500 as medicine, food, a dieting aid and as a beauty product. It is 97% water, rich in mineral goodness and low in calories. Remember the “miracle noodles”? They are also made of Konjac.
It does make a difference. My skin seems to be lighter with a more even texture. I’ve been use it after removing my makeup, before the night creams. Baby has got it too. Awnnn
Vitamins – I have been taking vitamins in several shapes and sources, from food to supplements. Recently my doctor suggested that I increased my Iron intake as I was feeling kinda tired and my tests suggested I could use a but more Iron. I am happy with aminoJern. Everyone can use it and it has less side effects than most of the other brands. Remember to talk to a doctor 🙂
Still in the vitamins, I also have been taking Magnesium tablets – SuperMagnesium from Shift – Magnesium relaxes muscles, while calcium stimulates muscles to contract. Research suggests that getting adequate magnesium during pregnancy can help prevent the uterus from contracting prematurely. It also helps build strong teeth and bones in my baby.
Hydration, Hydration, Hydration. It is all about keeping my skin nourished. Latelly I have been using the body butter and oil from Mama Bee – Burt’s Bee . I love both! The brand is known for its natural and high quality products. I do recommend them for their skin care products. I use them everyday and my sking feels more elastic to support all the stretch it has been under.
The Mama Mio body oil smells veru delicate and refined, has a heavier texture and it is good as a night routine as it is not absorved so fast. It has been very good to my skin.
Weleda Perineum Massage Oil was a tip from a friend. The oil is made of almond oil and vitamin E rich wheat germ oil. It prepares the skin for birth. This one I still cannot ensure it works, but it seems to be a lot of people’s favorite.
For the baby!
Since baby boy hasn’t been born yet, I can’t say I have tested the kits below. But I do know the brands and I think we cannot go wrong with them. From cleaning to body lotion, the starter skits from Baby Bee/Burt’s Bees and Boo Boos / Love Boo have everything a cute and beloved baby boy can ask for, right?
And look at the packages, aren’t they the cutest?
I plan to use them together with his Konjac Sponge. Can’t wait to be with him in the bath tube!
