My favorite shapewear: an ultimate guide

My favorite shapewear: an ultimate guide

Shapewear is an extra touch to your everyday outfits or to that amazing party dress that you love so. The pieces embrace your curves and make you feel a bit more confident, even though we need no clothes to make us feel confidence, isn’t?

As a user of shapewear on an everyday basis, I share here my favorite pieces for each type of look. It is just great to be able to benefit from each type of shapewear, making it the best friend of your looks, whether it is just a pair of jeans and your old t-shirt, or that gorgeous gown you save for special occasions.

As a body positive advocate, I must say i fact you need no shapewear to love yourself more. What you need is to surround yourself with images of real and inspiring women and read more my blog 🙂

But, if like me, you think that to make usage of shapewear don’t make you less body positive, see below my favorite pieces for each outfit.

  • Fabric is everything. Bodied fabrics a lot of stretch tend to be more comfortable. But keep away from the thick seizings.
  • buy shapewear in your size. Do not size it down. Too tight underwear can be bad for you, can cause you acid reflux, bad blood circulation, and even panic attacks. So, choose the right size for you.
  • I like the models that allow me to wear my own bra. It makes it easier and more versatile, especially now that I breastfeed.
  • Try it on before swiping your card. The worst thing is to buy a shapewear that will roll up. So don’t skip this step.

Lindex has got a good selection of shapewear together with the lingerie section, which is also very good. The shape and support pieces are made of fabrics are soft, don’t show through the dresses, are comfortable to wear, do not roll up and even better, are not too pricey.

Midi skirt and bodysuit shaper.

I love midi skirts and think it looks great with this spaghetti velvety top and the overlaying. Under this look I opted to wear the shaping bodysuit for comfort matters. It protects my thick tights against friction nd tones my tummy – kinda needed so shortly after birthing.

Bodycon dress and Bodycon shape dress

A good shapewear dress will give you a sleek, smooth silhouette, but it won’t make you a full dress size smaller. Trying to squeeze into a shaping dress that’s too small will have the opposite effect, in fact, giving you bulges in places you shouldn’t have them.

Bodies help to smooth out your stomach, lift your bosom, make your bum look perky and create a smooth silhouette – all in one! They are perfect for wearing under almost any outfit from trousers and tops, to shorts and tanks, to dresses and skirts. Many bodies have an integrated underwire bra to offer support, but if you prefer to wear your own, this one from Lindex is the one to go for.
