It was carnival and I was in Rio as usual. Street carnival is a huge thing in my hometown and in the last years I have been more and more into it. But this year it was (almost) different.
I was in Rio with my family, my baby boy just turned 6 months so, this time, carnival was not the most exciting time. After I had dedicated some thoughts on how this year would be so different from past times, I decided to get in the mood, arrage babysitting with my sister and convinced myself that hunny and me could have at least one night (out of one week daily festivities in town).
So I gathered with a friend and we headed downtown to shop for out diy session that we would create a headpiece, I would make mine and my husband’s, and, hoping for the best, I would let creativity and hot glue run free. Carnival is a big thing for me, I want to shine. And I like it chic, I like to be dressed up and to feel gorgeous. Actually the preparations are the most fun part.
Headpiece was sorted out, the idea of wearing swimwear too (as I do every year) but what else would I wear Time was short and expectations high. Running out of ideas and motivation, I finally had the amazing insight of calling a brand that I fell in love with, but didn’t have time to buy before they sold out everything.
In two days they produced a custom made piece for me and sent in the fastest shipping they could find. I never felt so appreciated, seriously. They had already stopped the production for this year but they just made one last piece for me, in my size, to match what i had in mind.
The resultt is me, feeling myself, shining around Rio with my custom made look, the headpiece I produced myself, glitter on my lips and body ready to dance in the streets.
Here you find more about the brand. How gorgeous is their work?
Se não for pra brilhar eu nem saio. Mas esse ano quase que eu não saio mesmo. Mas saí né mores? E saí bem. Vem entender.
Vem me amar
