(ad) The autumn-winter collections are hitting the stores giving us a lot to look forward to. As the weather gets colder, there is no point to look back to summer when you can expect a whole lot of dazzling fashion about to up your wardrobe game. I talked to one of the main buyers from Zizzi and got some key first-hand intel to give you an exclusive sneak peek at the collection and the trends we will all want to wear soon enough. Check this out and see pictures of the coolest styles about to hit the stores.
Zizzi’s autumn collection has been carefully developed, translating into plus size fashion the main fashion trends spotted on the fashion week’s runways. With the notorious evolution in their branding – taking place over the last couple of years – Zizzi raises the bar and brings trendy and stylish garments into the curvy wardrobe.
“We changed the way we think the collections and the way we buy clothes. Before we would have the assortment chosen and bought around 9 months in advance. This plan leads to lack of up to date trends in our collections. It’s just too hard to predict with 100% certainty what people will be wearing with that much advance. We spotted the changing opportunity and the new strategy is to buy the clothes 9 or 10 weeks in advance for most of our lines. So now we are much more accurate and up to date with the trends.” Explain Mia Skjødt, Zizzi Retail Buyer.
This collection has already started coming to the shops, so no more waiting. Expect more colours, dazzling embellishment, traditional craftwork and a seventies palette with beautiful hues of yellow, purple, blue, browns, bright and deep reds, with a dash of trendy lavender. And the flower prints, it is likely that you fall in love with them just like we did.
“It is not only about one flower print but how we developed the print throughout the collection. From small flowers to big graphics made out from the stem. It’s a whole oriental feeling in our flower prints that are the major mood in this collection.” Says Mia Skjødt, Zizzi Retail Buyer. There is a lot of focus on the textiles and on the details. Fancy embellishments, Devore velvet, transparency, lace up, blocking and slits on the jeans. Statement t-shirts paired with lace. Tomboyish moods contrasting with feminine fits and the oriental flowery bold prints. It’s all about contrasts in the new femininity universe brought by Zizzi this season.

The main trends we will be wearing this season
- Tomboyish dress up – grab style inspiration from menswear and dress up!
- Soft/chic grunge – Traditional checks shirts mixed with feminine transparency
- The Oriental mood in prints and kimonos: the transformation of flower prints along the collection
- Glitz Glam: mesh, chiffon, lurex and fine gothic laces
- Fabric focus: spotlights on the textile – Devore velvet, embellishments, metallic, plissé and animal prints
- “Decadent seventies” – a burn/warm pallet with brown, port royal, yellow transiting in a slight bohemian heritage
