As you may have noticed, the party mood is all over. This is a fantastic season to wear your shiniest pieces, make the most out of bold garments and just have fun with your style. It is time to dress up! I found this kimono and styled it in two ways to inspire you to get the look and make it your own. Here it is.
This kimono is a must have for the season. It is a cool piece that channels a vintage styling while also suits a modern look. The best of it: the piece makes your outfit to step into party mode instantly when you put it on. It has a good fit, true to size, good length on the sleeves and goes a bit over your hips, making the silhouette a bit more elongated – which I love.
To style this hot party look I went for mixing textures and neutrals – as the kimono has nothing neutral about it. I chose a pair of fake leather pants and a simple wool top with lace sleeves – also in black.
To combine different textures is the best way to go when you are styling a monochromatic look. When I am wearing black, my to-go option is always to play with different materials and shapes. So leather, wool and lace – all black everything – make the monochromatic look more interesting.
Play the shapes!
The trick of the belt makes it possible to vary the same outfit. Flash your curves by belting the kimono over everything. You can also belt the leather pants and wool blouse and leave the kimono loosen, for a discrete curvy silhuete. Both are pretty. And I think the loosen kimono may be a bit more comfortable.
