One sunny day in Rio with friends call for colors. Last sunday we made a surprise picnic to celebrate two friends’ birthdays. It was such a great oportunity to hang out in the sun with good music, people and cold wine.
So I went for a playful look mixing prints. I find Rio a city that inspires to play with visuals. The pieces I am wearing are all brazillian designs. When I come back in my hometown I do like to be wearing local designs and so helping somehow to develop the industry in Brazil.
The two brands I wear in this look are quite cool. They design with good fabrics, fine fit and mostly, are affordable.
Skirt from Mellbout and top from Xica Vaidosa.
If I had to pick only a few advices on the perfect wardrobe, surely a denim shirt would be among the precious tips. If only I knew how good it is to have such a piece in my closet, I wouldn’t have taken so long to get myself one.
Although this still ain’t the perfect fit, it has been doing wonders for my outfits. like a pair of jeans, the denim shirt is just so versitile. I love it.
This shirt was bought at Mango in Paris last april. Again, not the perfect fit as it is too square, shoulders are not in the right place. Maybe they meant to make a boyfriend shirt, relaxed, oversized fit. If so, they went totally bananas and just didn’t nailed it.
Anyways, this is the only denim shirt I have. And you, if you have the chance to get yourself one that fits you well and flatter your curves, please do not hesitate. Borrow money, sell another item, do whatever it takes to get yourself a perfect denim shirt.
This look I wore on a sunday to walk around Oslo, visit the open market at Grünnerløkka and see some indie art. If you come to Oslo, make sure you visit the Blå Søndagsmarked, every sunday around Blå and Ingensteds (two cool places that you should go). The area is so so pleasant, buzzy, with young interesting people. I love it. Here is the FB page of the sundays-market.
Another great tip on places to visit in Oslo is the cafe Peloton. It is a cafe and bike repair place? ahahaha Yes, Bike Repair. How cool? Coller than the concept is the interior design. I can’t love it more. Here is their page: http://pelotonoslo.tumblr.com/
Denim shirt from Mango (bought last April)
Skirt from Zara (it is about 7 years old! Yes)
Shoes: Adidas Superstar (new)
Jacket Kapphal (about 1 year old)
In the northern hemisphere summer approaches and we count down the days. What we want the most is to spend all day at the beach, drinking coconut water, meeting friends, having good drinks and just fully enjoy ourselves . This time of the year is so incredibily promising but also very a promiter of doubts and insecurities , especially for full figured ladies like me. It can be an uncertainty about the ideal swimsuit, or insecurity related to body image. I got you! We are just in the same boat. Chck out this post with amazing pictures of beaches in Brazil and some words on self love.
Pulp Fashion Week Paris was an important event for the internacional plus size fashion industry and I was there to cover it. Around 20 designers showed their creations on the runaway. It was a great opportunity to be there, see friends, meet new people, make contacts, and, of course, show it all to you here. Check out my fav runaway looks, plus backstage pictures.
An small city in the northeast of Brazil can be a great source of energy and inspiration. Even more when this place is located at the south of Bahia state. Itacaré has been one of the nicest short vacations we have had latelly. I felt like I was in another dimension, with different time frame and environment. It may be because Bahia, specially the small villages, has a different timing of living, something like stress-free and “don’t worry, be happy“. Check out more pictures, travel tips and a colorful outfit.
Some say the black dress is the ultimate must-have in the closet. Now, what if this so-called must have comes in a wonderful wrap shape? Would the result be the perfect dress? Check this out.
