Beauty battle: 4 cleansers I have tested and honestly…

Beauty battle: 4 cleansers I have tested and honestly…

I just cannot live without a good cleanser in my life. For a person who wears makeup every single day – or for a person who has at least traces of a skincare routine, these products make sure you remove the impurities from your skin and make you feel good and your skin, fresh. Cleansers are one of the most – maybe THE most – important product in your beauty box. Here I have an honest post on what I really thought of these four cleansers I have been testing lately. Check it out.

First, let me tell you how I usually do my skincare routine.

As a mother and a freelancer, I don’t have much time for myself. Having said that, I can assure you I do not want to use too much time in my skincare, although I’d love to dedicate hours to the home spa rituals.

Korres Olympus Tea 3 In 1 Cleansing Emulsion 200ml

What they say:

Powered by an antioxidant-rich blend of Greek mountain tea, aloe vera, natural cleansing agents and moisture-replenishing oils, this soothing emulsion melts away makeup, dirt, impurities and pollutants without stripping the skin. Plus, the infusion of an anti-pollution complex acts to protect fragile skin cells against toxins and environmental aggressors through its detoxifying action. Complexion is left comfortably leave, calm and touchably soft.

Usage: Massage into face, neck and eye area. Remove excess emulsion with cotton pads and tissue off or rinse.

How I feel about it:

I usually like everything from Korres, so I was open to like this one. I was excited with the idea of having one product to remove the makeup, purify, sooth and moisture my face. As I said, I don’t have much time to dedicate to my beauty routine so this promise really got to me.

My first impression was that the lotion is a bit too liquid and runs too fast from the cotton pad. You need quite some to remove all traces of makeup. It does not remove well the waterproof mascara but as you insist, it eventually does the job. My skin burned a little bit because I pressed too hard but it was just for a moment.

It is a bit pricey – 18 euros

The overall feeling is good, it does what it says, the aloe vera in the formula makes a difference when it comes to soothing the skin. Smells ok, nothing fantastic. I recommend if you have a dry skin and use a moderate amount of makeup. The best about it is that you don’t need water in the process. So it becomes quite practical to use.

Not sure if I would buy it again. Maybe on sale.

Korres Olympus Tea Cleansing Foaming Cream 200ml

What they say: Formulated around the anti-pollution, antioxidant-rich tea extract from Olympus mountain, this rich foaming cream smooths, softens and protect as it removes all traces of makeup, dirt and impurities. The addition of vitamin C, calendula, provitamin B5 and a blend of citrus, broccoli and aloe also work to combat the damaging effects of environmental pollutants and restore skin to its healthiest state.

Usage: Dispense product and apply to slightly damp skin, massaging gently. Rinse thoroughly, pat dry and follow with skincare regime.

How I feel about it:

I like the creative combination of the natural components. I mean, broccoli hahahhaa…. The promise is tempting but the product is pricey – 25 euros.

The package is more practical to use than the first one. I usually prefer pumping when you are supposed to apply the product with your hand. So, thumbs up to that.

You are supposed to use it with water so I only use this one when I shower too. I think it is a bit fussy to wash my face on the sink. It does melt the makeup, it does clean the skin. If emoves all the impurities I don’t know. It also requires a bit more work when the makeup is stubborn but that’s how it usually goes.

It is a good product, does what it says. If you don’t mind to have to use water to remove your makeup, you will like this one. But it is a bit pricey.

Emma S. Cleansing Facial Wash 125ml

What they say:

A cleansing and foaming facial wash that can be used both morning and evening. Keeps the skin clean, fresh and clear.

Usage: They suggest that you use morning and night, after removing the makeup. Squeeze a small amount into your hand and add water. Work into a rich lather with your hands and massage into the face. Rinse using lukewarm water.

How I feel about it:

It is a delicate product that works very gently on the skin. All products from Emma S. are super gentle on the skin and I love them for that. The texture is almost like a mousse, very light and nice. I like the smell and that a little of the product goes a long way. But it does not remove well the makeup for itself. You are supposed o wear their makeup remover before. I honestly like products that do all together.

Price is ok, overall good enough but do not expect it to remove the makeup as well. So I think it wouldn’t be my choice because I look for a product that does everything.

But I do like to wear this foam when I have all the Emma S. ritual (click to read the other review). And that’s really good.

The Body Shop British Rose Petal-Soft Gel Toner 100ml

What they say: Enriched with real rose petals and organic Community Trade aloe vera from Mexico, our extra-gentle, alcohol-free formula leaves skin feeling soft, soothed and replenished.

Usage: Soak a few drops into a cotton pad and gently cleanse skin. Avoid the eye area.

How I feel about it:

I feel great about it. This is my favourite of them. I am such a fan of the British rose scent. The formula removes all the makeup, brightens the skin and leaves it with such a nice touch. It is a really good toner that cleans the face and removes the makeup effectively. I have also been using it right before my makeup. I apply the toner then the British rose facial mask for the major glow. What a combo!

The toner became a favourite and I do recommend that you try it too. It smells so good, I cannot get enough of it.
